About

Each Wednesday (6-8 pm) during April and September, the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau presents a free, family-friendly jazz concert at the History Pavilion in Riverfront Park, located in the capital's popular downtown River Market district. Performing on 7 September 2016 is the jazz quintet Sounds So Good, led by distinguished pianist Curtis "JJ" Adams and including Tim Woods (soprano sax), Ivan Yarbrough (electric bass), Gavin Hawkins (drums), and Tamisha "Sonnie" Cheatham (vocals). Lawn chairs and blankets (but NOT coolers) are permitted. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of beverages (wine, beer, soft drinks, water) benefits the scholarship fund for Art Porter Music Education (artporter.org), a 501c3 nonprofit. More details about the concerts, performers, etc. can be found on the River Market website (rivermarket.info); questions should be directed to 501.375.2552. Info about the venue is also provided via a link at the top of this Jazz Near You entry, which can be shared via e-mail as well as social media....
